It was a cracking day for our Melbourne University (1), who secured a win against Craigieburn Senior Women to collect a well-earned win.
We batted first and put 2/204 on the board from 20 overs. Brianna Herman brought up a good half-century, finishing with 89. Aswathi Shankar made a great 84 not out, a well-made fifty.
Chasing 205, Craigieburn Senior Women reached 5/126 from 20 overs. The hosts' best with the bat was Litara Va'auli, who made 45. Rebecca Lines weighed in with 35 for our opponents. With the ball, Cath Grant did the damage, claiming two for 6 off one over.
The runs on the board proved more than enough.
A terrific effort from the team.
