Our Melbourne University 1st XI had to settle for a loss as they were denied by Northcote 1st XI in a disappointing result.
Our innings: 289. Northcote 1st XI's: 6/291. Take a bow, Eddy Schultheis: an excellent 127 off 192 balls with eleven fours and three sixes. Dhruv Poojari Redhu contributed 39 off 74 balls. Alexander Buxton weighed in with 36 off 58 balls. Our opponents' Jackson Smith was the standout with the ball, taking five for 68. Joe Medew-Ewen added four for 96 for the hosts.
James Browning picked up three for 67 off eighteen overs. Yuvraj Singh weighed in with two for 66 off 22.3 overs. Medew-Ewen made a stylish 123 for our opponents, a century worth applauding. Credit to Max Mikedis, who made a half-century (62) for the hosts.
There were some polished individual efforts to build on.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
