It was a disappointing outing for our Melbourne University 4th XI, who lost out to Essendon 4th XI on a tough day.
First up, we made 10/142 from 43.1 overs. Torren Arthur was the pick of our batters with 31 off 50 balls. For Essendon 4th XI, Prageeth Edirisinghe took three for 21 off 7.1 overs. Muhammad Abdul Wasay added three for 31 for the visitors.
In reply, our opponents passed our total, finishing on 6/145 in 35.3 overs. Credit to Dilawar Ali, who made a half-century (54) for the visitors. Aanlin Cheeran bowled superbly to finish with three for 18.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again.
Congratulations to our opponents on the win.
