Our Melbourne University 1st XI had plenty to celebrate after they recorded a win over Essendon 1st XI on the back of Finlay Bean's century.
The scorecard reads Melbourne University 1st XI 8/385, Essendon 1st XI 9/356. A century to Finlay Bean, who made 111 off 146 balls with fourteen fours and one six. Henry Melville brought up a brilliant century, finishing with 103 not out off 129 balls. Fergus McKenna posted a half-century, making 71 off 87 balls with ten fours and one six.
Douglas Warren was the pick of our bowlers with three for 89. Credit to Connor Poulton, who made a half-century (82) for the hosts. Liam Molloy passed fifty for our opponents, finishing with 78.
Contributions came from right through the line-up. Two wins on the trot now for the side.
