It was a disappointing outing for our Melbourne University 1st XI, who lost out to Camberwell Magpies 1st XI in Kookaburra Men's Premier.
After batting first, we finished on 183 from 48.5 overs. Harrison Barnes's 43 off 82 balls was the highlight with the bat. Benjamin Rolfs contributed 36 off 64 balls.
Camberwell Magpies 1st XI knocked off the runs, finishing on 4/186 in 37.3 overs. Fifty for Tom Scott, who made 59 for the visitors. Jobe Fraser made a useful 33 for our opponents. Tom Walker picked up two for 42 off 7.3 overs. Peter Hatzoglou offered good support with two for 44.
There were some stylish individual efforts to build on.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
